(Beaver Lake Service Unit services girls primarily from the Maplewood/Oakdale/Woodbury, MN area.)
Fly into this one-week day camp! This year, your day camper will learn about butterflies, ladybugs, and other winged creatures! Not only that, they will learn how these magnificent creatures affect their environment and how we can keep that environment green and healthy! Camp is for girls entering 1-6th grade in the fall of 2023. Girls entering grades 7-12th in the fall of 2023 participate as caddies. We also will need volunteers to help camp run smoothly.
Wings and Things Day Camp will take place July 24-28th 2023 at Camp Lakamaga. Busses will pick up in Oakdale at 8:00am and return ~5:45pm. Girls entering 2nd grade in the fall of 2023 and up may participate in an overnight Thursday evening.

Girls entering grades 1-6 in the fall of 2023
Girls entering grades 7-12 in the fall of 2023 and have taken the appropriate training.
Please ensure you selected your child's GRADE THIS COMING FALL, not their current grade in this school year.
Beaver Lake Service Unit Day Camp is for registered members of Girl Scouts of the United States of America. However we welcome everyone. All you need to do is register for a Girl Scout membership. You are able to register for GSUSA as an individual or part of a troop through the Girl Scouts of River Valleys Council at (800) 845-0787(easiest way to register) or on their website at https://www.girlscoutsrv.org/en/about-girl-scouts/join.html . Scholarships are available.
In order to volunteer at a Beaver Lake Service Unit Day Camp you must be a registered adult volunteer of Girl Scouts of the United States of America. You are able to register for GSUSA as an individual or part of a troop through the Girl Scouts of River Valleys council at (800) 845-0787(easiest way to register) or on their website at https://mygs.girlscouts.org/volunteer . Please make sure you choose an adult volunteer role so you are sent a background check. Scholarships are available.
Please note all volunteer registrations are pending until we confirm you are a registered Girl Scout Volunteer with a background check complete.
Full Time Volunteers are those who work full days everyday of camp and stay overnight on Thursday night.
BLSU Day Camp provides Bussing.
Busses depart from a bus stop in Oakdale Monday-Thursday at 8:00 am
Busses return to the bus stop at ~5:45pm Monday-Thursday and ~12:00pm on Friday
The Caddie's schedule is below. If you are not able to attend all the days listed you will need to contact our Caddie Director Blaze at [email protected] and get permission to register.
Saturday 5/6 or Saturday 6/4- This is our Day Camp caddie training. You only need to attend one.

Caddies are also offered an additional fun overnight on Tuesday 7/25. Please indicate if you will be attending the Tuesday overnight.
On Thursday 7/27 we will have an overnight campout for Girls in grades 2 and up. Girls in Grades 2 and 3 sleep in buildings and girls in grades 4 and up sleep in tents.
Unit Placements and Friend Requests - Girls are placed in units with other girls of similar age. We attempt to place girls together in units with at least one friend. Due to logistics and safety ratios we cannot guarantee entire troops will be together. We hope that BLSU Day Camp is a place to form new friendships. We thank you for your understanding!
If you would like to request a friend please enter one friend from the same grade as your daughter in the fields below.
Adult Voluteers please choose all the BLSU Day Camps you have volunteered.
If we have enough interest we will add a boy's unit to our camp. This will be for volunteers who would like to bring a 1-6 grade boy on the day(s) that they volunteer. Cost is $20 per day for part time volunteers or one free child for full time volunteers. We will contact you regarding the status of the boy's unit after registration closes.
Please list someone other than the parent/guardian(s) above. For youth, we first contact any adult volunteer present in camp, then the parent/guardian, then the emergency contact.
Girl Scouts River Valleys requires us to collect the following for girls, volunteers, and siblings attending camp. The Allergies and Activity Restrictions fields are shared with program staff and the Unit Leadership Team. All other health information is kept confidential with the camp First Aider (nurse).
Over-the-Counter Medications: Do we have permission to administer Tylenol (acetaminophen), Advil (ibuprofen), Benadryl (diphenhydramine), Neosporin (antibiotic ointment), Afterbite (sodium bicarbonate/baking soda), Cortizone-10 (hydrocortisone cream), Calamine (anti-itch lotion), Aloe (after sun lotion), Tums (antacid), Throat Lozenges, Sunscreen, and Insect Repellent, or their generic equivalents, as needed by the camp nurse (please select Yes or No for each.)

You may use Cookie Credits and Fall Funds to pay for camp. You may use any unexpired Cookie Credits or Fall Funds you currently have or you may use your anticipated Cookie Credits for the 2023 cookie season. Please indicate how many $5 cookie credits you plan on using and they will be deducted from your camp fee. We will follow up with a form for you to enter the electronic codes for your e-cookie credits or fall funds. If cookie credits do not cover your balance due we will collect the balance after cookie credits have been distributed.
Beaver Lake Service Unit Day Camp is volunteer run. Camp requires approximately 20 volunteers each summer. Please consider volunteering! We offer discounts for full and part time volunteers. Please see the info below to determine if you qualify for discounts.
A volunteer that works full days all five days of camp including the Thursday overnight (note: Camp is finished by 12:00pm Friday) will receive a discount of $120 towards their camper's fee. If you can commit to working all five days of camp including the overnight, please enter coupon code VOLUNTEERFT below before you save registrant and then complete a volunteer registration.
A volunteer that works three or four full days at camp will receive an $70 discount towards their camper's fee. If you can commit to working three or four days please enter coupon code VOLUNTEERPT below before you save registrant and then complete a volunteer registration.
A volunteer that works one or two days is a very valuable part of the team and we appreciate any time people can commit to helping our camp run smoothly. We do not offer discounts for volunteers working one or two days, but you will receive a camp t-shirt and we promise you'll enjoy the smiles you see on all the Girl Scout faces!
